Our Innovative Solution
Drawing on over 25 years experience in custom buildings for the industrial and mining industry, the team at Techspan engineered and manufactured 3 large buildings to support this mining operation to increase efficiency & productivity.
Each project had unique requirements, functions and features in order to ensure that the building met the intense demands of a busy mining operation.
The largest of the 3 project included a tyre changing shed measuring; 36m wide x 20m long x 12m high, designed to suit the exact needs of a critical process in this minion operation.
1 gable end was left open to provide maximum accessibility to the large machinery.
Large 10m x 10m openings were included at each end to allow for dual sided access to manoeuvre tyre and wheel loading machinery in and out of the shed.
The 2nd building, an equipment maintenance shed, measuring 15m wide x 36m long x 7.5m high, included a 15m x 6m mezzanine with a 5kpa load rating, access stairs and handrails (to NCC requirements) – provision for the future construction of maintenance team offices under.
The design, engineering and manufacturing also allowed for a 5 tonne gantry crane and installation of a number of large roller doors to ensure maximum accessibility.
Specialising in meeting strict regulatory and project deliverables, Techspan delivered all welding to AS1554 SP and supplied MDR’s, inspection test plan records, material certificates and maintenance manuals for all 3 buildings.
Techspan were extremely proud to partner with the various stakeholders for these projects in delivering a positive outcome for the Newhope Group.
