25x95m Cotton Gin Facility in Carroll, NSW

This purpose-built cotton gin facility in Carrol, NSW (near Gunnedah), was designed, manufactured and installed by Techspan for our client, Carrol Cotton.

The Brief

The cotton gin facility needed to incorporate a large gantry crane and be engineered specifically to integrate with an internal fitout allowing for complex operations of the plant equipment. The design also needed to incorporate a drive-through loading bay, and cantilever canopies on both sides of the structure.

Our Innovative Solution

TechSpan designed a purpose-built cotton gin facility with a 5.0T Gantry crane, and an enclosed 12 x 6m purpose-built plant room.

The building also features a large 7.5m cantilever canopy on one side, specifically engineered to support the necessary large ducting; and a 5.0m cantilever canopy on the other side.

To ensure ease of operations the building includes a drive-through loading bay, a large 6.5m x 6.5m custom sliding door system, and was designed and engineered to integrate the gin plant and suit the complex internal operations.

The final building incorporates all the necessary features to ensure the easy and efficient operation of the gin facility.
